Is it diminishing or undermining to have a sole devotion or cause and nothing else?

I for as long as I can remember have had a fondness and devotion to the Souls in purgatory. Nearly all my rosaries I have said have been for them. There are other devotions in the Church, like praying for the sick, clergy, those who suffer from addiction etc. I dont want to feel like I might be “Hoarding” graces by offering God acts of penance, sacrifice and the rosary only for those in Purgatory. I do know its not intrinsically bad but I feel like Catholics ideally should be versatile in their prayers. Perhaps Im wrong there. I don’t even know exactly why I love the souls in Purgatory so, maybe its because I can hope and have faith that if I do enter it I will be prayed for since many in Purgatory stay for a very long time because they are forgotten by their family, and friends. And I do pray for others and offer prayers for other things and people but i’d say 95% of the time Im praying for the dead.

Your prayers are a spiritual work of mercy. If we asked the same of a corporal work of mercy I think you would find that you’re doing just fine. Like if someone devoted so much of their energy to feeding the hungry and then worried they had not done enough to bury the dead.
