Is it ever morally acceptable to read explicit romance literature?

I am in a discussion with someone who reads a lot of romance novels, much of which contain graphic content. The catechism does not mention literature in it’s definition of pornography and I was wondering about the moral gravity of reading such books. Is it ever acceptable? Thank you.
