yes… it can go, faith, works, faith, works, faith, faith works. I trying to figure out my stances on the five thesis.

Yes, I have even heard that some protestants to stick to their doctrine have said it says faith more than it says works, so it should be that.
But all of Scripture is infallible for the purpose of our salvation. It is when you try to adopt odd doctrine that it gets messed up. In the whole, as attested to by the Church, it is quite beautiful.

Good question. I think so, yes. When one reads Luther or Calvin, they get an organized concept of each doctrine that uses various scriptures to support the concepts. This is the same reason we have the Catechism, as it organizes the Teaching of the Apostles into a comprehensive structure that is easier to read, and is referenced by the Scriptures and Church Fathers.

The difference is that the Catechism reflects what was handed down from the Apostles, where Luther, Calvin, and other Reformers Rejected the Apostolic faith and created new and different doctrines that separate the faithful from the Apostolic faith. This is why the Church had to condemn their work.

I am curious, why are you looking at the “five solas”?

Here’s what I know about the five solas: “?”

Here’s what I know about Luther (Martin): a) Catholic Monk searching for Truth (Jesus), b) turned into anti-Catholic searcher for Truth (Jesus), c) ending at confused searcher for truth (designed by self and determined by self) aspiring to find the “good” papist behavior in his followers.

Summary: once man determines that he (“inspired by the Holy Spirit”) can determine what God wants, he/she becomes his own law and authority.

Maran atha!

I am looking at the 5 solas to figure out what Protestantism is somewhat about when it comes to faith and works.
