Kind of a silly question that popped up in my head, but it’s stuck around there for a while. As a Catholic, do you think it is immoral or even sinful to have an interest in werewolves, like in literature and movies and stuff? I’m not gonna go around trying to practice witchcraft or anything like that, I just think they’re cool like how some people like zombies or vampires. However this question has been on my mind for a while, what do you think?

No more immoral than to like Hobbits or other mythical creatures.

I believe these creatures originated from demons disguising themselves over the century. Centaurs, Minotaur, Elves etc…all the same apparitions. Werewolves likewise are very close to the demonic. I would just temper the interest.

Unless your fascination/interest in such things (werewolves, vampires, ghouls, zombies) is a gateway to an interest and participation in occult practices that the Church condemns, there is noting immoral in having some fun with things that are figments of the imagination.

(Hmmm, I wonder what that howling is out in the yard/ Is the moon full tonight???)

Not moral or immoral, but wasteful use of time. It is fanciful, but a lot of people find it entertaining. Imagine yourself a saint instead. That has possibilities! Peace.
