The other day my grandpa who is not a catholic was telling me about a part in the Old Testament where a woman who was carrying around a small child dropped it and it did something to the child’s feet and ended up being crippled because of it. Has anyone ever heard about or read this before? Thanks!

This story is found in 2 Samuel 4:4
Jonathan, the son of Saul, had a son who was crippled in his feet. He was five years old when the news about Saul and Jonathan came from Jezreel; and his nurse took him up, and fled; and, as she fled in her haste, he fell, and became lame. And his name was Mephib’osheth.
The context is the death of King Saul and Jonathan, his son, in battle. In this chapter we see there was a power struggle afterwards where a lot of blood was shed in acts of revenge. Eventually, King David, the Lord’s anointed, restored relative stability to the kingdom.
