It seems as if every year just before Easter there are more programs and documentaries which paint the Church and Christianity in a bad way. Seems like more so than any other time of year. Anyone else notice this?
I think the History Channel still does. Though if I remember correctly, they have “historical” commentaries every fifteen minutes or something like that. I don’t remember how orthodox they are.I remember, way back in the '70s they would run Jesus of Nazareth every year at Easter.
I agree. I think the networks have discovered that the Easter season is kind of a “mini-sweeps” in that they can attract the attention of us religious types by putting Jesus into the programming. The idea is to get ratings and attention for their shows, but controversy generates more advertising dollars because it gets people worked up. If people are worked up they’re more likely to talk about the topic, the show, the interviewer and the network. More attention, more ratings, more money. Remember, there’s no such thing as bad publicity. It just seems to be a way to sell advertising, that is, anything contraversial. Same with any entertainment, people want to see what the “issue” is, even when it’s not a program or movie that they would normally watch. Best bet?–Don’t watch TV, that way you won’t be part of the problem,LOL!–nicolo
I am not so certain the quotes would be warranted in this instance.…the Bill O’ Reillys of the world take a few isolated instances and try to inflame people about a “war on christmas” so they or their friends can sell books.
Satan uses the media and television to attack the Church. The television is his tabernacle. It seems as if every year just before Easter there are more programs and documentaries which paint the Church and Christianity in a bad way.
