Is it me or is Brony fandom seem to be slowing down a little?

I remember way back in about 2011-2012 i would see a lot of Bronies at sims in a online game, but seems since then. Most of then vanished or such.

My brother in law used to be really into MLP around that time, but I haven’t noticed him much into it these days.

Of course, he’s a fifty year old mentally challenged individual with the cognitive skills of a ten year old, so he might not be representative if that population in general.

Yeah,i have seen some studies and such that most into the Brony stuff or other cartoons with animal characters tend to have aspergers.

Brony? Who or what is that? I’m sorry, but I’ve never heard of it.

Adult aged men who are extreme fans of the cartoon My Little Pony.

Not even joking

A lot of the focus has been wrested from them by the furries as more people have found be out just how many of the more prolific furries are into some pedophilia and zoophilia. Bronies are annoying, but usually not criminal

Isn’t that like painting with a broad Brush? I know many furries who want nothing to do with pedos. And i know without a shadow of a doubt that it is the fastest way to get blacklisted in furry. Other groups of people like Catholic priests/ministers/rabbis,school teachers, little league coaches, and even family members have been arrested for the exact same thing. the biggest group of most SO’s are mostly family members or someone in the family,

Every group, every community has bad apples in it.

Furry is also trying to clamp down on SOs’

I know someone who was convicted of stuff who has been told in the Southern California groups to get out and has been disinvited from the furry groups by some forums that document furry drama and such.

I’m not saying everyone in the community is a criminal, just that there have been a number of pretty high profile cases of pretty disturbing things coming from them lately, like a convention CEO being found with child porn, Discord has had a pedo problem with furry groups, and the nightmare that was Kero the Wolf and his little friends.

Yeah, the discord cub thing. Hopefully the United Nations drafting a bill to ban underage art will make anime and furry from further hosting that stuff. Many furry sites have banned the stuff, like FA,Sofurry(i think a petition to ban cub stopped it there)furry network beta also had a petition to ban it,and they banned it.

The show’s also ending, which is part of it. I don’t watch it like I used to, since my daughter doesn’t like it as much. I’ve even been to a convention. Most are normal, but some are bad…luckily when I was a mod at an MLP Forums I was able to catch some of the bad ones in the act and get them banned from the site.

It has died down considerably, that’s for sure.

I wonder if it’s also the bullying by both Bronies and non Bronies that caused it. I remember a Brony in a online game who was a real jerk to me. there was supposedly a kid who was picked on for having a mlp:fim backpack. And there was some Brony who got fired from their job for being a Brony. I also know of some videos on youtube called cringe videos that pick on Bronies,so i wonder if that in part made the fandom decrease membership

Season 1 of MLP was great, seasons 2-4 not as good, and I didn’t bother to keep up with it after that. Also from the meme point of view it’s normal for things to become more popular while they’re popular with other people as you can bounce off each other, but as some fade away the fandom as a whole fades - this is the same with popular music

Yeah, i wonder if it’s the same thing that happened to hair metal during the 80’s when it was all on tv and radio and as the 90’s rolled by,it was gone.
