Is it normal to want multiples?

I’ve got twin brothers and I’ve never wanted twins in my life. They were born premature and were very sickly as babies. My friend would like twins and I know people that think twins are “cute” but they can turn into terrible twosomes. Not all twins are identical so you can’t always tell. I think nowadays twins are a lot more common due to IVF treatment which is against my beliefs and not pro-life. If you want them I hope you get them naturally. I think twin pregnancy is also more common with fertility drugs such as Clomid or Clomifene but only marginally but I read a scientific study saying that Clomid increases the risk of miscarriage by thinning the lining of the womb as it’s an anti-oestrogen so sometimes the rate of multiple pregnancy is masked by this fact.

You probably already have your older kids playing together so maybe won’t feel this benefit as much, but for us we’ve found that having twins really lightens our load just because our oldest children have playmates - while many parents are still having to entertain their oldest at 3, because the youngest isn’t old enough to be a real playmate yet. This will probably be a big help when #3 comes.

blame sleep deprivation, but I had to read this 3 times before the light bulb clicked … you meant your twins will keep each other occupied, making it easier on you for baby #3, right??
