This often comes up, just as in the US. The Secret Service (protecting President Obama) certainly carry guns. But when anti-gun proponents get vociferous, they never suggest disarming the Secret Service.
Why does the Secret Service (or the units protecting the royal family, prime minister, etc.) get/need to carry guns to protect these individuals, but I shouldn’t be allowed to have one to protect the individuals in my family??
