Is it okay to buy relics?

Is it wrong on any basis to purchase a relic on eBay? It would be my intention to only give the relic away to someone who has a devotion or need. If I kept the relic at all it would only be for devotional purposes and never resold.
 
The Code of Canon Law states:
It is absolutely wrong to sell sacred relics (canon 1190).

While this canon does not state that “it is absolutely wrong to buy sacred relics,” your purchase is very likely to encourage this seller. The best way to stop the supply is to halt the demand. I cannot recommend buying relics for any reason whatsoever.
