Is it old fashioned , I love homemaking ? I think is Catholic living

In this modern world , we have had financial and spiritual values threatened . I have worked in the past , but struggled more as a wife and parent. I think it’s old fashioned but more Christ like to value your home . Don’t jeopardize the family. If this is possible , we prefer it this way.

If that’s what you prefer, that’s fine. But women who work outside the home are not less Christ like and do not value their homes and families less.

I used to work a lot . I had a terrible boss once . I was broken into , robbed and my help was replaced with someone else. I got out of debt. My spouse was promoted . We handled many things financially and I came home. I once had a boss who committed adultery and another went to prison . I will not say names. It was terrible.
 
I know feminism is a bad word here, but it was all about letting women move out of the limited roles they were assigned. There’s no need to worry about choosing a “traditional” role.

Proverbs 14 : 1
Every wise woman builds her house , but the foolish pluketh it down with her hands .

Proverbs 18 : 22

He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.

Proverbs 21 : 19

Better to live in a desert than to live with a quarreling and nagging wife .
 
Those verses are from KJV . I think are mean but could understand. My jobs were horrible.

Husbands love your wives , and be not bitter against them.

I see nothing wrong with being old-fashioned, if that is your preference.
 
But is it “old fashioned”? There are women who are stay at home mothers and homemakers. Always have been. They’ve not been outlawed.
 
There is nothing wrong with being a full-time housewife. Most women were that during biblical times, most likely even Mary was a full-time housewife and mother. But the woman in Proverbs 31 is a successful and Godly businesswoman who runs her own business, so it’s definitely ok to be a working woman too in the eyes of God.

The problem is now that most families cannot live on one income. Especially if they are good Catholics accepting lots of gift children from God. 🤣

I don’t know, Jesus wandered from town to town alot.🤔 But that would not be practical for most of our families.🙂
 
Good suggestion. I don’t have it for public view. I am not in the phone book publicly available. We have security . I disagree with totally hiding because someone will move near , be a friend , or pray for protection. Watch sometimes. If you never posted your identity , no one could place who you were if something happens. My family members and friends maybe. It might help some how. I hope so.
 
I think men and women should work at any honest profession that they choose to work at.
Raising a family with two working parents can be complicated, but it also teaches work ethic and solidifies the family dynamic.
Children learn from their parents. Boys should learn how to cook and wash, and do other chores, so that they will have those skills when they leave home. Girls should learn that it is okay to have a profession as well as to be a mother to their children.
Nothing is threatened as long as God comes first and the family comes second.
