Is it possible to attend this ceremony?

My elderly aunt is a friend of an archbishop who is expected to be made a cardinal sometime this year. She has hinted that she would like to attend the ceremony where he is made a cardinal and she has hinted that possibly I could go with her. That of course depends on many things, not the least of which is whether she would be up for the trip to Rome.

So, my question is, is this something the archbishop would invite friends to? Or is this a private ceremony? How does that work?

Our Archbishop was named a Cardinal a few years ago. There were many people in the diocese who were invited including groups, choirs and individuals. There are three (if I am remembering correctly) ceremonies - one for the rings and caps, one for the actual ceremony and the first Mass of each new Cardinal. So there are lots of opportunities for people to go and see some or all of it. One of my kids’ teachers was an invitee.
