Is it proper to ask for something to be blessed after a confession?

Hello. Wow… Comming up on 1 year in the Church.
Anyhow, I attend a large Cathedral.
I’n going to confession in an hour or so.
Is it ok to bring a crusifix and ask to have it blessed after teh confession. I have face to face confessions with my Priest.

Given that it’s nearly Easter there’ll probably be a fair few people lining up for confession - it’s best not to take up the priest’s time at this point. If there’s no-one else waiting then it would be fine.

I normally find it’s best to approach after Mass (if the priest stays and greets people as they leave), or at some other time (such as if you see them around before Mass).
 
Thanks… actually i decided since they have so much going on this week ill wait till next week.
 
I think the most convenient way to have something blessed (least time-consuming for the Priest) is to drop off item(s) at your parrish office. Perhaps in an envelope with your name on it. And then pick it up the next time you go.

Even during Holy Week, I think this is possible. Although it is certainly a most busy time. Maybe the item you want blessed is an Easter gift – and if so, this method can work to have your item blessed in time.
 
I did this once and was told by the priest that he could not do it because he needed holy water and would have to leave the confessional to get it. It was clear from his tone that the timing of my request was inconvenient.
 
Most often I will ask a priest after Mass. They’ve always been happy to oblige.

That has been my experience. Note, do it after mass, not before. Many priests prefer not to have their prayer interrupted while preparing for mass.
