Absolutely not…I haven’t read all the responses but I’ve learned in my Negotiations class that it is a standard business tactic to use deception as a bargaining tool/tactic

On another note, I firmly believe honest people don’t get ahead in the workplace because they can’t b.s. the way the other corporate climbers do

Well…I’m getting ‘ahead,’ as they say (never liked that phrase, but for the sake of this discussion)…and I don’t feel the need to bs people…but, I absolutely feel that what you say is happening more and more. It’s sad, but as long as you’re making money for the company…you can be horribly unethical, or downright rude and nasty to your coworkers…and no one gives a hoot. Good point.

nice username by the way…lol modesty…it becomes you.🤓

It’s realistic. It’s life. Being Catholic doesn’t mean we should become naive and delusional. In many ways, life is war against our fallen nature.

thank you for your reply…I suppose when I asked this, I was wondering if I’m being uncharitable towards another, by not trusting…but, it wasn’t unwarranted, that’s for sure. So, now my guard is up…but my charity is back.

or even in general, if you have historical reasons not to? (not talking holding a grudge, just keeping one’s guard up as a precaution) I have lost trust with a few men at work, and now my guard’s up. Is that un-Catholic like, if you keep it to yourself?
no. most people can be trusted anyway. no big deal.
