Is it wrong to marry someone from another religion?

hey, i have a little problem, i’m in love with a guy from another religion, but everyone is like holding me bck from him and don’t want me to be married to him just because he is from another religion and my marriage to him will be like rejecting my catholic identity.
Is it true??
But We truely love eachother and respect eachother, i go to church and he just pray for God So what is the wrong thing about us getting married .
