Is it wrong to not like the quote, "Brothers and Sisters in Christ"?

Did the Apostles say, Brothers and Sisters or Brothers and Sisters in Christ, when they were preaching?

Someone said this. Is it wrong to consider mankind your true brother and sister?

This phrase is used in all sorts of scenarios. Other topics also include the phrase “the brotherhood of man”.
It doesn’t really matter where it originated as far I am concerned, because I think it [erfecty illustrate the attitude that we should have towards other human beings. We are to care for everyone, including the poor, the disenfranchised, the stranger, the prisoner, the orphan.
When we think of them as our brother and sister, it’s far easier to feel compassion. SOmething that is sorely needed in our society, IMHO.

The apostles said ‘brethren’. But I don’t see why that would make it right to dislike the quote you reference.

Not sure about the apostles, but Aramaic speaking Jews usage of brothers and sisters does not necessarily mean they are blood brothers and sisters but rather they are cousins or relatives or people of the same clan or grouping.

It depends on what you mean by it and therefore it may not be wrong. Believers in Christ are indeed brothers and sisters in Christ both from the theological point of view and normal usage to mean we are a group of people believing in the same faith.

Probably it is setting the definition much wider to consider mankind as brothers and sisters. How? It is okay if it is because we are all homo sapiens or God’s creations. Other than that not sure how it can be inclusive.

People who believe and are baptized are called the sons of God in Scripture. Sons of the same Father are brothers. Likewise, faith and baptism incorporates us into Christ–so those brothers are “in Christ.”

That being said, in another context, we can speak of the brotherhood of all men (St. Paul in Acts even compliments the pagans who said we are all God’s offspring) who are united by our common origin and called to a common destiny.
