Is Joni Mitchell anti-Catholic?

I’m just curious, based on some comments I ran across. . . is Joni Mitchell getting anti-Catholic?
 
Here are some lyrics from her song Shine…

Let your little light shine
Let your little light shine
Shine on world-wide traffic jams
Honking day and night
Shine on another {profanity censored}
Passing on the right!
Shine on the red light runners
Busy talking on their cell phones
Shine on the Catholic Church
And the prisons that it owns
Shine on all the Churches
They all love less and less
Shine on a hopeful girl
In a dreamy dress

Why she goes from traffic problems to the Catholic Church is beyond me? 🤷
 
I doubt she is anti-Catholic per se, however one of her songs from her 1994 album ‘Turbulent Indigo’ pertains to the Magdalene Asylums in Ireland & Britain called ‘The Magdalene Laundries’:

“Prostitutes and destitutes
And temptresses like me–
Fallen women–
Sentenced into dreamless drudgery …
Why do they call this heartless place
Our Lady of Charity?
Oh charity!”

‘Shine’ seems to be a direct reference to this with the inclusion of ‘prisons’ in the lyrics and her criticism is fair in relation to it.

I sincerely hope she isn’t anti-Catholic as she is one of my favourite artists.
 
I was a fan of Joni Mitchell’s music until I read about her Starbucks cd.

You’re not going to write such blatantly anti-Catholic lyrics, unless you are.

It’s a pity even at her advanced age, she’s still trying to draw unwarranted attention to herself by attacking practically the most hated religion in the world.

Honestly, along with her decline in morality, down her talent went.
 
I was a fan of Joni Mitchell until her anti-Catholic views became more pronounced, I know that she is from the 60’s and her touch of 60’s rebellion probably still lingers, but come on…jumping on the bash the church bandwagon isn’t what the 60’s stood for.
