In a recent answer it is implied that we shouldn’t listen to Christian radio stations. I routinely listen to Christian radio stations but I don’t listen to the preaching and I know when the lyrics are out of line with Catholic teaching. What is wrong with listening to Christian radio stations?

There was no implication that it is “wrong” for a private individual to listen to a Christian radio station. What was critiqued was that a Catholic store was playing non-Catholic Christian radio programming over the store’s sound system – and encouraging customers to take advertising for the station so that they could listen to the station on their own time – when there is Catholic radio programming readily available. While a particular Catholic, well formed in his faith, may be fully capable of listening regularly to Protestant radio programming, many Catholics are not. For a Catholic store to subject all of them indiscriminately to Protestant radio programming when Catholic radio programming is available is what is problematic. And, as another reader of this forum pointed out, if the Catholic store cannot access Catholic radio programming on the radio it has available, then it could instead use its sound system to play CDs of Catholic music that is also offered for sale to customers.
