Is love an abstract concept or not? And why?

My opinion, yes.

Because it is non-material.

Or perhaps that’s the definition of a transcendental concept…???

Love can be instantiated and seen in a wide variety of thoughts, words, actions, attitudes, and so on. However, all of those are particular instantiations which participate in the universal concept of love. So I agree: Love as such is an abstract concept, yes, even though we see it in particulars. (Like truth, or justice, or goodness, which also are abstract concepts.)

the concept of love may be abstract but its expression and experience is concrete: exhibit A, the Cross
