Is Lying A Mortal Sin?

I recently cleared my history so that I can hide what I’ve been doing on these forums.

1. grave Matter (I guess)
   2 I knew it was a sin and it said mortal sin under some circumstances
   3 I did it freely

I cleared my history so that my parents won’t know about my “issues”

Not telling something is not the same as lying about it. Hiding a truth is not the same as telling a falsehood. People are entitled to have secrets.

Even if you did something REALLY sinful (like, say, killing someone), you do not sin further if you don’t run down to the police station and confess. You sinned in the killing, but not the keeping of the secret.
