I just want to know if it is still a sin to masturbate if you do it just to know what it feels like

Yes it is a grave sin. Needs to be confessed. As with other grave sins knowledge and intent are taken into consideration to determine if it’s a mortal sin.

Masturbation is intrinsically evil, and I can’t imagine a situation where it wouldn’t be done for pleasure (irregardless, how the action makes one feel. doesn’t determine its sinfulness) Combine masturbation’s grave matter with full knowledge and deliberate consent and you have a mortal sin.

You missed the part right before that which is the reason why it’s a grave sin:
It doesn’t matter if it was done out of curiosity or for pleasure. If you’re looking for justification or a loophole, there is none. Please, for your sake, go to confession and listen to what the priest has to say.
