Is masturbation allowed for medical reasons?

I have a medical condition . I have a condition and one of the recommended procedures to alleviate this condition is masturbation. I’m tormented by this and asking would following medical advise still be considered a sin and would it be a moral sin or venial sin. This is embarrassing to me asking but as I stated above it is a medical condition.
