In the quran the people asked mohammad in jonah [10.20] “Why is not a sign sent to him from his Lord?”

mohammad replied “Say: The unseen is only for Allah”

when mohammad said unseen he was meaning future or prophecy
so the people who claim that mohammad had a prophecy
are not honest. mohammad himself admitted he had no prophecys and prophecys are only with allah.

I looked up the tafsir of the aya, it is not talking about prophesy as you have mentioned, please give a source for your explanation. The reason for revelation i’ve copied and pasted below

These stubborn, lying disbelievers said, "Why would not a sign be revealed to Muhammad from his Lord.’’ They meant a sign such as given to Salih. Allah sent the she-camel to Thamud. They wanted Allah to change the mount of As-Safa into gold or remove the mountains of Makkah and replace them with gardens and rivers.

Allah’s way of dealing with His creatures is that He would give to them if they asked things from Him. But if they then didn’t believe He would expedite punishment for them. When Allah’s Messenger was given the choice of Allah giving the people what they requested but if they didn’t believe they would be punished, or that their request would not be answered immediately, Allah’s Messenger chose the latter

Nonetheless, **they had witnessed some of the signs and miracles of the Prophet ** , which were even greater than what they had asked for. In their presence, the Prophet pointed to the moon when it was full and it split into two parts, one part behind the mountain and the other before them. If they were seeking the guidance and firm knowledge by asking for signs, Allah would have known that and would have granted them what had been requested. But Allah knew that it was their obstinacy that was behind their request. Therefore Allah left them to suffer in their suspicion and doubt. Allah knew that none of them would believe

**Truly, those, against whom the Word (Wrath) of your Lord has been justified, will not believe. Even if every sign should come to them.)**10:96-97]

Allah gave Mohamed (pbuh) knowledge about certain things, like the signs of the day of judement. and Allah kept certain knoweledge only to Himself, like the exact time of the day of judement.

talk about taking things out of context.

here’s the verse cited by moses for those who don’t know…
and they say, “how is a sign from his Lord not sent down to him?” so say, “certainly, the unseen is Allah’s. so wait, surely, i am with you amongst the waiters.” (10:20).

this is a fact, that knowledge of the unseen belongs to Allah alone - and He reveals portions of it to whomever He wills, such as His chosen prophets and messengers.

Allah tells prophet muhammad concerning information He revealed to him about mary, mother of jesus, “that is from the news of the unseen that We reveal to you.” (3:44) likewise, He tells him concerning information He revealed to him about noah, “that s from news of the unseen that We reveal to you. you nor your people knew it before this. so be patient. surely, the end is for the pious.” (11:49)

He also commands prophet muhammad to tell us, “say: i do not say to you that i have Allah’s treasures, nor do i know the unseen, nor do i say to you that surely i am an angel. surely, i follow only what is revealed to me.” (6:50).
