Is my aunt validly married?

My aunt was married to my uncle who has since passed away, but prior to his passing, she divorced him and married another man. I know that once a spouse passes away we are free to marry again, but since she married prior to his passing, is her marriage invalid or valid?

Unless there was a decree of nullity (an annulment) then marriage after the divorce would be invalid due to the original spouse still being alive, you can’t be married to two persons at the same time. The Church would require a new exchange of consent to validate the current marriage.
