Is my Baptism valid?

Hello all! I start RCIA next week, and am very excited. I have a quick question. I was baptized in a Pentecostal church. I was baptized in the following manner: In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and into the name of Jesus. Is this a valid baptism? Thanks so much.
 
They will need to look into it…

It may be that one at least needs to have a conditional baptism

(have the chancery look into it)
 
That’s strange, doesn’t sound trinitarian. Sounds "quad"itarian? lol

You would have to talk to you RCIA coordinator and the priest of the parish that you plan on entering in the Catholic Church. They will be able to help you in deteriming whether your baptism was valid. If it was not, there are steps that can be taken to remedy this circumstance.

you should have an interview with the priest and RCIA director early in this process and explain the facts of your baptism, and give what documentation you have. The diocese has a list of valid baptisms, and in your case it depends on the actual church and pastor, as not all Pentecostal baptisms are valid. If they need to the parish will call the diocese to make sure. All this means is that you may receive a conditional baptism if there is a doubt, and still proceed with confirmation and first communion.
 
I really don’t think that’s valid. You should request that Father do a conditional baptism.
 
I just find it funny that I hear many people say to give them paperwork? haha. I was baptized by a minister of a church of 35 people in a creek. I seriously doubt that they kept paperwork. I guess I’ll just have to bring up the question to my RCIA co-ordinator. Thanks!

I did not say paperwork I said any documentation you have, which can be an affidavit signed by you if you were old enough to be aware of the details, or by any witnesses who were present. the opinion of any poster here is irrelevant. It is for the bishop of your diocese to establish whether or not you have been baptized, and the place to begin is by speaking with your RCIA coordinator (who also cannot make this determination if she is a layperson) and pastor.

again welcom home, this is a routine matter parishes deal with regularly, not any barrier to your union with the Church.
