My entire life, my father had a severe drinking problem. While he never physically abused me, I was the victim of much verbal and emotional abuse. There is much about my early life that still stays with me today and that has challenged many close relationships I have strictly because of my father’s actions. This however is just the background, not my actual question
Code:
My question is this: about 6 months ago I received a "suicide" note via text message from my father after hearing that he had three warrants out for his arrest in multiple states. He was a very wealthy man with a respectable job so initially it was a shock to me that he was running from the law. However, the next day his phone was disconnected and he was gone. He was reported as a missing person but there is no information regarding his disappearance.

Although, over the course of the last few months I have learned about several illegal activities that he had taken part in....many of them occurred while I was a child. I, as well as the police are now operating under the assumption that he is no longer alive. Now back to my question: if he is dead, is he in Hell? He always said he was a believer but his actions show otherwise. I am not Catholic but I am interested in the religion and its views on this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
