Is my Mom in heaven?

A few weeks ago, my mom committed suicide. When she was eight years old she was sexually molested by a family member and it haunted her. She turned to pills in her final years to try to escape the pain. My mom was not Catholic and said she did not understand the trinity but said she believed in God and Jesus. She would always give praise and glory to God if someone complimented her work. Do you think my mom is in heaven? I have had many pastors (non-catholic) assure me that she is. What do you think?

Hi,

Most people take their own lives simply to stop the pain. It certainly sounds like this was the case with your mom. She had many crosses to bear in her life. There is good reason to expect that she is in heaven or at least, in purgatory. Pray for her as will I.
