I’ve yet to come across a good definition of “person” or “personhood”. Have you got one? (How is it different from/related to substance, substantial being, nature, essence)

Nita
I was reading something the other day on the Trinity in which the author stated that “person” was an insufficient construct. “Hypostasis” is much better. Like that helps. I don’t usually know my ousia from my hypostasis.

Maybe there are no good definitions of “person”. A “person” can be grammatically something, or an actor, or a “persona”. It is too fluid a term for meaningful discourse. I had thought it pretty solid.

This is bugging me. I would say this is really bugging me, but some smartmouth would come along and ask me if maybe my being bugged was only an illusion, or symbolic, or something.

Don’t use the phrase “real person” around me. It would drive me up the wall!😃
