Are viewing pirated music or movies a sin . For example in school there is a site that allows you to download songs from YouTube when you can’t listen to them on restricted WiFi . I’m not sure if this piracy but felt like it was risky . Or watching movies from streaming site . If these things are no longer profitable liken watching a movie from 2011 would it be sinful. Would this be mortally sinful . What about the music example

If it is available on Youtube, the holder of the copyright has allowed it to be widely shared and is not immoral since the maker is giving it away. But if it is available to be purchased somewhere, like iTunes, then it is immoral since it is available and we cannot take things that are not ours without paying for them. Our parents taught us that when we were small - things don’t change when we grow up.

I want to watch a movie from 2013 and I don’t think you can purchase it any where I feel like it’s acceptable if I watch ir

Good point but I feel like at this point the thing is not profitable so I feel like it’s ok and I don’t think my librabry has it

Streaming sites with content that shouldn’t legally be there tend to make profit with ad revenue and such – it’s immoral on their part to be displaying copyrighted works publicly, which shouldn’t be supported.

Most modern movies and TV shows can be found on Hulu, Amazon or Netflix and the like. There is no excuse to steal them.
