I tried doing a search and came up with this thread: forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=14223 but it doesn’t completely answer my question because it assumes only morning sickness for a reason to eat.
As a pregnant woman, I sometimes will become ravenously hungry for seemingly no reason and will wolf down whatever I can get (my husband likes to say that I have to feed myself when that happens so that he can keep his fingers). Luckily, it hasn’t happened within a Eucharistic fast hour, but if it does, is that a reasonable excuse from the fast or not? I’m leaning towards no and would refrain from receiving communion if it happens before this question is answered, just in case.
Thanks!
