Is Protestantism an innovation? Why or Why not?

I would think Protestantism is an innovation and more precisely, the product of human free will and pride. I admit that the Church needed reformation and rejuvenation in the Middle Ages but definitely not separation and secession. However, I believe that God has His plan. We shouldn’t judge our separated brethren. Just leave the matter in His guiding hand.

Your comments, please?
Protestantism is a heresy. A few weeks ago “innvation” happened in Stockholm when lutheran preachers participated in a gay pride parade. Thank you very much.
