Purgatory is not for eternity. Even so, the time spent in it depends on the sins of a person.

But, after the Final Judgement, there is no Purgatory.

Why will you need your ‘glorified’ body? Because we are creatures of body and soul. We needed our body to function on a material earth, but it wears out, that is the nature of a material terrestrial body.

After the final judgment, in order to function fully again in heaven and eternity, our souls will be reunited with that material body which will be, miraculously, glorified.

Do you remember that Jesus, God made man, had a ‘glorified’ body when He rose? A body that could apparently be in more than one place at once, which could pass through walls yet be solid to the touch. Since Jesus is the new Adam, since He is a man like us in all things but sin, it is obvious to me that we human beings will also have those glorified bodies.

Because we are human beings, not just spirits. We must have our soul and body together to be complete.
