I was wondering if it’s morally right for a married catholic couple to role play when having sex?
Oh I see what you mean now

well this is a rather off colour topic, i’m going now :o

Hey, I have to interject that when my ex-Wife joined my D&D group, she killed it for everyone . . . I’ll have words with those scientists.

Thankfully I made my wisdom check when picking out my wife after joining the church and getting my annulment, though I think I got a +2 circumstance bonus becuase she was having me go to Mass with her when we first started to date . . .

Sorry about the digression . . .

On the REAL topic, I would be interested to see what an actual appologist has to say about this, and if it depends on if you are fantasizing about being a married couple or not, etc.

Are you saying that those of that have posted our personal opinions that may or may not reflect anything real (let alone Church teachings) about what may be the most difficult area of teaching (appropriate marital sex) are not actual apologists?

I am shocked at this attitude!

Er, um . . . I didn’t mean anything by this. By actual I meant someon trained in this particular field . . . sorry for any slight.

If roleplaying means pretending your spouse is someone else then yes…roleplaying would be a mortal sin. It seems that roleplaying means lusting after someone else while in the marital embrace with your spouse. How could that not be sinful?
Or it could mean “lusting after” your spouse while you and/or they play a role.

I was kidding. Sorry if that didn’t come across.:o

I realized that when I reread it, I appologize for reading your post very quickly this morning while on the way out the door to my sister’s house for Thanksgiving . . . have to have my comedy sensors realigned. I knew that watching “Dude Where’s My Car,” when I was younger would do some permanent damage, but its only when you get older the you realize the extent of you youthful mistakes. 😃

Although you have to take a -5 on that roll if the couple are mixed-class (such as a paladin and a thief).
groan Oohhh…that’s baaaad!! LoL

Well if your wife would be a 5th level human archer named Eve then maybe it is not a sin. It may be a sin if you are imagining her as a level 10 orc barbarian/level 3 Eye of Gruumsh. 😃

okay so i need some clarity. Can catholics role play with their spouses but in a different situation. so your not fantasizing about them being someone else but them playing a certain role different than who they really are. with costumes like teacher or nurse. so ultimately how far can this “role playing” go!
