Just wondering if the two were different names for the same concept. It sounds like Maya is ones own ego, the mind, that tells us we are seperate from the Absolute. Is that the meaning of Satan as well?

No, Satan tempts us to do evil. In Indian philosophy Maya is the “illusion” or rather, mistaken perception that our ego and all creation is independent of divinity.

“Maya” is a religious doctrine. Satan is an entity, a real and self-aware creature.

You would have to have asked him while he was alive, or ask the Magisterium about him. I am sure they know of him, having been in such ministry involved with such things.
If he is not a Catholic Priest appointed by the Bishop of the local Diocese to be an exorcist , he will not have been a Church approved or appointed exorcist. Which means he had no bonefide Catholic ministry involved with such things.
I suggest a good series on this by Fr Ripperger and by Fr Gary Thomas. They discuss exorcism and who can and cant etc

This guy in the video was a 7 day Adventist.

If I’m not mistaken, “maya” in some certain hindu circles is “illusion.” In buddhism, maya is personified as “the tempter,” which does sound like Satan.

So I guess in terms of Buddhism, Satan is the same as Maya?

This is just based on what I know from being an ex-Theravada Buddhist and Gaudiya Vaishnavite

Mar_9:38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.
Luk_9:49 And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.
We are Catholics on this forum, we follow, believe in and promote Catholic Teaching. As Peter was given the keys and was able to loose or bind here and it would be so in heaven.
A Seventh-day Adventist, and? What does that have to do with anything? Was he while speaking to devils?
According to Catholic teaching, Bishops appoint Catholic priests as exorcists, they do not appoint 7 day adventists to be exorcists.
This is teaching we stick to and abide by. We do not want to open doors with exorcisms etc that the diabolical doesnt recognise as Bishop appointed and approved.
Again, watch Fr Ripperger and Fr Gary Thomas on youtube. They are both church appointed exorcists and explain this really well.

Given your time in Catholic Ministry and Catholic reading, as stated elsewhere, you will know the answer to
What does that have to do with anything?

Mar 9:39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.

Luk 9:50 And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.
None of this negates what I said about this forum and why it exists and its rules we all follow.
St Peter is our first Pope, the first head of the Catholic Church, he is pretty special. God the Son, Jesus, gave Peter the keys to the kingdom, what Peter bound, is bound, what Peter loosed, is loosed.
That has been in existence for over 2000 years. So when a Vatican representative, a Pope, a member of the Holy See, a Bishop says no you cant do that, well you cant. When they say yes you can do that, then you can. Demons and the diabolical know this, they are sticklers for law, church law, legal eagles so to speak, as Catholic exorcists tell us.

Do not dialogue with the devil said Pope Francis.
