I’m working on a presentation that includes some stage magic. These are misdirection and slight-of-hand illusions, nothing occult. One of the routines has a rhyme that includes the words “Hocus Pocus”. Some sources suggest that this is a corruption of “Hoc est enim corpus meum” used at the Consecration. Is saying “Hocus Pocus” like this a sacrilege?

Hi,

Knowing what you know about its origin, I don’t see how you could use it. The body and blood of the Lord just means too much to us.
