Valid confirmation would depend upon the validity of the ordination of the Bishop. Groups in schism from the Catholic Church that maintained valid ordinations still confer valid sacraments (though illicit) as long as the sacrament does not require faculties (e.g. confession). Thus confirmation by a validly (even if illicitly) ordained Bishop is a valid confirmation.
