Well, I don’t consider any type of tobacco a “sin”, so my answer would be “NO”.

However, the type of use of the tobacco may be a “sin”, such as letting it control your life (for example, not being able to sit still during the Mass because you crave nicotine).

I think the Church would agree that occasional, casual use of tobacco and alcoholic drinks isn’t a “sin”.

Only excessive use of tobacco is a grave sin.

Interesting…I don’t think that tobacco is sinful, but it really is bad for you, and it’s a good thing to avoid.
That said, I know a young couple here in my town, who have four children. When they were expecting their 1st child, he switched from smoking to chewing tobacco. His reasoning was, that it was wrong to expose his pregnant wife &, later, the children, to tobacco smoke. (Second hand smoke being dangerous to all of us).
It is just my opinion, but for what that is worth, I think that, given that kind of circumstances, & an inability to quit (at least yet) entirely, that he is actually doing somethig that I admire.
I would be very happy, in fact, if other smokers would 👍 👍 follow suit…(😛 My opinion is worth :o rather less than :twocents: )…

Hve you ever seen the results of cancer to the mouth from chewing tobacco?

That should be answer enough; if it is not, then the question of the sinfulness isn’t going to help either.

the body is the temple of the soul…so anything that harms it in any way is a ‘sin’ a slap in the face of God!..add another S to that…stupidity and ya got it. Nino

Nino…Neither smoking or chewing tobacco is a sin. You can buy cigarettes at the vatican for heaven’s sake. By your own ‘private scripture interpretation’’…eating oreos is a sin. They’re not good for you either.
