Is teaching children a Hindu style meditation allowed?

I just took my 8 year old to school and watched the class doing morning prayer.The class then sat down cross-legged and most children put their hands into the Hindu position (middle digit touching thumb) to meditate.I question the teacher about this afterward and she said the whole school does it.Is their any Magisterial teaching on proper postures for prayer?

Dear friend,

If this is taking place in a Catholic school, something is very wrong. With all the many forms of prayer in the Catholic Church and they are being taught that? Lord knows what else they are being taught there. I would not entrust my child to such people! I suggest that you write the bishop. He has a right to know about this.
