Ok, is it quite clear that John the Evangelist (the beloved disciple, one of the Twelve Apostles) and John the Baptist (cousin of Jesus, the one who “prepared the way of the Lord”) are TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE?

I wish Dan Brown would convert to Scientology. . .
