Is the Bible inerrant?

Is the Bible inerrant in all its parts or only in parts that have to deal with salvation? I ask this because I’ve always understood the Catholic teaching to be that the Bible was completely without error. However, I’ve recently been made aware that Instrumentum Laboris, the Bishops document of the 2008 Vatican synod, limits inerrancy to only those matters that pertain to salvation. Can you clarify this?
