I probably sound really dumb asking this.
I was prayed a long time ago for a sign from God to “proove” that He existed when I was doubting. About a year later, I realize there are different Rites all over the world worshiping the same God and reciving the same Eucharist. Just wanted to share that. 😃

The answer to your question is no, they are not the same. The term “Byzantine Rite” refers to the fourteen Catholic Churches that follow that Rite. Now, the Greek Orthodox (and Russian Orthodox and others) do use the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil and the Presanctified Liturgy that is found in the Byzantine Rite (with some minor exceptions). However, the Orthodox are not in communion with Rome while the Eastern Catholic Churches of the Byzantine Rite are.

Does that help?
