I am catholic, got to church daily but the one thing that changed my life and got me saved to Jesus was talks by Joyce meyer and joel osteen. I feel like this are the only true churches since what the talked in their preaching saved me. I have never felt any connection to Jesus in the sacraments.

Do you have a question apart from the one in the subject line?

To be able to connect with Jesus, as you already feel it, is a good start. Later on, as you will find out, there are more beside “feelings” in any relationship, for example: mutual purposes, understanding, forgiving and especially love. Feeling alone cannot sustain any relationship as our feelings go up and down, change with different moods and circumstances. In the long term, a relationship (in this case, with Jesus) will require lots of willpower, perseverance and courage…and ultimately, grace. Sacraments, especially, the Eucharist, will provide us necessary graces to overcome the “tiredness” of our feelings.

The prosperity Gospel makes one feel good until real life problems or tragedies occurs. Then, one has to decide. Either God is punishing them, or the Gospel is a lie. Many, when confronted with such a dilemma leave the faith altogether. Others donate more money hoping that will serve as a sufficient leap of faith to regain God’s favor.

Yet, the true Jesus of the true Gospels invites us to take up our crosses and follow him. Jesus makes no promises of prosperity in this world. Jesus makes it quite clear that following Him may be quite difficult.

I’ve always wanted to ask Olsteen why he needs a $10,000,000 home paid for with church money to do his ministry. Also, I’m quite curious as to why he refused to allow those seeking shelter into his church building during the last hurricane.

The Catholic church is The Church founded by Christ. What other church can say that? Don’t get me wrong, I think protestants can go to heaven and they have a lot of truth in their churches, but the Catholic church is the only church that has all the truth in it.

Dangerous groundwork there…feelings are fickle…sometimes the Truth may not be what tickles our ears the most, but is none the less the Truth…

So are you saying it is only the true Church if you “feel saved”?

You said you are Catholic, so did you know that you were saved before through your baptism, and through the Sacraments?

You maybe didn’t feel that, but it really happened, especially in Christ’s eyes.

AMEN TO THIS ^^^^^^

What happens when it doesn’t"feel good" anymore?
Nothing.
Nothing happens. You are empty.
Christ is the fulfillment of all of our joy.
Meet HIM in the Holy Eucharist.
Not a personality on the tv.
Return to formation at your parish. I’m sure they have some adult ed classes.
Coffee with the priest. Get a spiritual director, something.
Better yet, work with St Vincent dePaul and see faith in action.

Thank all of you guys for your replies. I just found my answer:The tridentine mass. I felt so connected to God especially with the music(it was so heavenly). The feeling i had while in the mass can not be compared to the talks by the two preachers. i felt like God was fully present especialy when the golden eucharist(not sure what it is called) was lifted. It made me realise that Jesus gave His life for Me on the cross.I came to find out that my problem was the novus ordo mass which was filled with worldy talk and dances.
