Is the Chrism Mass in the Bible is asked by someone and I want to respond to this person. Thank you.
Well, maybe that’s how it should be, but in our diocese, the Chrism Mass is on the Wednesday evening , as it is easier for the priests to attend and still be available during Holy Thursday for other things like visiting the sick.To an extent, yes.
The Chrism Mass is on Holy Thursday because that day is the day of the institution of the Priesthood, and at the Chrism Mass, all of the priests of the diocese, are, for the most part, present.
No, not necessarily. The Chrism Mass and the Mass of the Lord’s Supper are not the same thing. The Chrism Mass is on Holy Thursday
A superficial aspect, not anything that is inherent in the bishop blessing oils.and at the Chrism Mass, all of the priests of the diocese, are, for the most part, present.
I disagree; the Chrism Mass is as much about the institution of the priesthood as the blessing of the oils, so it’s not superficial to have all the diocesan priests and many other representatives there to renew their ordination promises.A superficial aspect, not anything that is inherent in the bishop blessing oils.
The Last Supper is close but it is not in the Bible per se. And so is requiem mass and wedding mass.Is the Chrism Mass in the Bible is asked by someone and I want to respond to this person. Thank you.
This. All of this.“Chrism Mass” not in the bible? Nor is the word “bible” in the bible… Nor is the word “Protestant” ever used in conjunction with the words “righteous”, " justified", or used in conjunction with the phrase “just follow Luther or Calvin, you’ll still be saved”. I love it when literalists use “it ain’t in the bible” to dismiss something or impeach a religious practice… especially if it’s a Catholic custom.
