Is the devil/ Satan an actor of History?

Has there been any catholic theologian or pope who has argued that?

Do you mean, has the devil played a role in the history of mankind?
If so, from the Holy Bible, does not man fall into temptation from the beginning?
From whom did that first temptation come from?

IMHO, every evil act has its roots/foundation in the evil that the devil would have befall mankind.

Satan has influence over those who are willing to serve Him. He plays an active role in Sacred Scripture and in the modern world. According to Our Lady of Fatima, he was the driving force behind the World War and the driving force behind the forewarned 2nd World War.

People are tempted by the world, the flesh and the devil. So give Satan 1/3 credit for evil in the world. And as for being an actor in history, that’s no act. 😊

Oh, I believe he has…FOR SURE, 100%!

Like the Rolling Stones song…‘been around for a long long time, you know my name?’

Sometimes he may just be another face in the crowd, other times, he may be the soldier sitting in the fox hole, another, he may be a general, etc etc, etc. but where theres death, violence and war, Satan IS there…somewhere.

I’ve read that the devil no longer possesses a person, since Christ took the form of a man. Therefore even with high complicity, he can’t be an actor, only an agent of change. A spy of sorts, who enters influences the minds of men with all sorts of hypnosis.
