Is the devil real?

Hi,

Just want to know if there is any decent arguement for the existence of Satan, since humans have shown an infinite capacity for evil without any such belief.
Is not belief in such a being a cop out?  As in "The devil made me do it"?  Where is personal responsibility for ones actions in all of this?
