Likely the Divine Mercy chaplet is a special kind of antonement. Is this correct?
 
Only Jesus is our atonement. Reciting or praying The Divine Mercy chaplet helps us to meditate on this and ask for His mercy, and to remind us of His wonderful gift of Himself for us.

No, the chaplet itself is not, and the poster above explained why only Jesus is our atonement.
