English is not my native language, I’m sorry for any misspellings.

Tomorrow will be big event in Jerusalem where the Holy Light show up, however, the Orthodox Church is the one in control with this event, does that means that only Orthodox churches allowed to join to this miracle or also Catholics can ?(I guess Protestants do not even believe in the Holy Light)

This is video showing what happens every Saturday before the easter Sunday.

AFAIK anyone who can squeeze in can go to Pascha services in the church of the Holy Sepulcre and hold out a candle and get the holy light.

They don’t check IDs at the door.

In watching the video I saw Armenians who are not Orthodox and even men in fezzes.
If you can make it, go.

Wikipedia has an entry saying Pope Gregory IX in 1238 denounced it and forbade Catholic participation.

But why?! I don’t see harm in participate that, I do believe in this miracle, I’v read many articles trying to explain this miracle but non of them convinced me that the Holy Light is fake. One of the Catholic channels are going to show the whole thing live on TV today, Are they not Catholic by doing this? Am I not Catholic because I believe in it? And why did the Pope asked to not do so?

They’re Catholic, and you’re Catholic if you were baptized. I don’t know much myself, I just remembered reading that online. The Holy Light would fall under the realm of Church discipline, so what the Church says about it today may be different than what Pope Gregory said then. Talk with a priest.
