Is the judgement day nearer?

This may not be the answer you are looking for but everyday we get nearer to the end of the world. We do not know when it will end but our time keeps drawing closer and closer to an end. Our world is not exponential or never reaching the zero hour but linear getting closer and closer to that day the Father has set for the end of time. In essence don’t worry about it. Be prepared for the world to end today, tomorrow, or the next day. Keep your soul perfect as God is perfect and pray that God will give us more time to keep growing in His Love.

Jesus always said how easy things are to comprehend (10 to 2 commandments).
with pope the xvi now speaking and 16 being the psalm of Jesus,it very possible the end times are really just starting to begin.
there will be much peace before,then calamity,before our Lords arrival.

Has anyone considered what nation rising against nation and kingdom against kingdom on a scale never before seen (it will surpass WW1 and WW2) will be like. Even considering the most likely conflict scenarios to break out in the world, it’s still pretty difficult.

I agree with you, that it’s a waste of time worrying that Judgment day is coming, looking for signs, and fearing “the end”… only if I were ~some~ people, I might think to worry a little more than others, and what place they might have in the new beginning,

The state of your soul at death determines your destination and the state of your soul at the second coming (if alive at that time) determines your destination. In either case a state of mortal sin will send you to Hell.
