Is the pope a blood descendant of Peter?

No. I suppose it may be theoretically possible that a pope at some time in history was a direct or collateral descendant of Peter, but the Church does not require candidates for the papacy to be literal blood descendants of Peter. The pope may be said to be a spiritual descendant of Peter, in that he is a successor to Peter’s office, but he is not necessarily blood kin.
