Is this movie suitable for Catholics to watch? Does it amplify Godliness or Wickedness? I havent watch it.

Watching weird is like washing in a puddle, you could pick up anything from it.

Stay clean stay safe.

It’s just a movie. I don’t think you’d be opening yourself up to anything. It’s kind of absurd to think that watching a simple scary movie is gonna get you possessed.

You need to develop your conscience so you know what types of movies present an occasion of sin for you.

Catholics in general nowadays don’t go looking to an outside authority to tell them if a book, movie etc is okay to watch. It’s pretty safe to say that any movie not put out by the Catholic Church is unlikely to be 100 percent correct about Godly things or Catholic teachings, but instead will be focused on entertainment, shock value etc. I too consider “possession” horror movies to be generally incorrect on religious matters and a huge waste of time. The only one I’d make an exception for is the original Exorcist movie, largely because a priest was directly involved (plus it’s a relatively well-made film).

They gave a rating of A-III suitable for adults. So I can watch it.

Ok, if I felt uncomfortable with what I watched, I will walk out.

I agree, we can tune in to God and we can tune in to other things.

Also, I really think that Plato all those years ago was right when he suggested that in his imaginary republic he would not let his guards watch scary or frightening artistic drama. Why put scary thoughts in the guards minds if you want brave guards. It’s a point I’ve mentioned before I know.

It’s about good housekeeping, or good temple of the Holy Spirit keeping!

I usually consult the Catholic News Service section for movie reviews
I really don’t want to be a critic, but I have read one review of theirs that I completely disagree with.

I disagree. That’s like saying you can get sick eating raw cookie dough so you should just never do it. Live a little

It’s probably not, but if you’re a well formed adult who is capable of discerning the difference between a movie and real life, you don’t need to restrict yourself to “good Catholic movies.”

I had a read of a funny review of this movie and had a rather good giggle. Renaldo mentions a few, one being ‘No one knows how to lock a door’
When you’re being hunted by a demonically possessed corpse that can move at breakneck speeds or stealthily crawl up and along walls, closing a door or two would help. However, Hannah Grace’s cast obviously didn’t get that memo, because no one locks the doors in this movie at the most crucial moments.
For me I prefer movies that gives my brain a work out.

You know yourself and how mature your faith is. Are you capable of seeing a movie and remembering that it’s just a movie, not a reflection of truth or a model for real life?
